The benefit of using the curriculum isn’t exclusive to our students. Lessons have caused a positive ripple effect on staff, administrators, and their families. The more you practice activities, the stronger it becomes! This, in turn, has helped us better care for our students. The program reminds us that our brain is like a muscle.

The curriculum’s roots in in neuroscience, positive psychology, and social-emotional well-being have given students and staff an understanding of the brain and how to care for it. We carve out time weekly for direct instruction of the lessons and have woven the topics across all curricular areas. Since implementing MindUP in the fall of 2018, we have witnessed the principles of positive psychology come to life in all 28 of our schools.

We want to support staff well-being and ensure our students learn at their maximum potential as best we can. We regularly evaluate our strengths and areas for growth. For many years, my district has made a point to monitor and improve our school culture.
